HOW A Plant Based Diet Reverses Heart DiseaseIf you are reading this blog post about how a plant based diet reverses heart disease you are obviously concerned about your heart health but …

Are you concerned enough about your heart health to take action? That is the million dollar question. Knowledge without action is essentially useless information.

A Plant Based Diet Reverses Heart Disease

prevent-and-reverse-heart-disease-with-a-plant-based-dietDr. Esselstyn talks about his research findings and success on the reversal of heart disease, recognising the health benefits of a plant-based diet.

Internationally known surgeon, researcher and clinician, Dr. Esselstyn currently directs the cardiovascular prevention and reversal program at the Cleveland Clinic Wellness Institute.

Of note, former US President Clinton recently spoke of how he was able to lose twenty-four pounds and improve his heart function by following a plant-based diet as recommended by Dr. Esselstyn in his ground breaking book “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease.

In the following video Dr. Esselstyn will show you some compelling facts about the decline of heart disease in Norway during the German occupation of that country in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s. It all had to do with diet. And may I add this bit of compelling food for thought from God’s Word, the Bible:

God-gives-man-a-plant-based-diet“Then God said, Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;  and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so.” – Genesis 1:29-30

God originally intended for man to eat a plant based diet. When man sinned against God things changed, diet included. Eventually disease came into existence and yet when Norway was forced to adhere to a plant based diet during WW2, a time of high stress and terror, the incidence of heart disease plummeted! How do YOU explain that one? I for one do NOT believe in coincidence.

What Does A Plant Based Diet Do To Prevent And Reverse Heart Disease?

Reverse-heart-disease-plant-based-dietWhen you adopt a plant based diet rich in fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains you begin to reduce certain risks of developing heart disease. What is more important is that, over time, you may also begin to reverse any atherosclerotic heart disease you may currently have. By reducing and/or eliminating the following factors any atherosclerosis you currently have may resolve.

  • High blood levels of total cholesterol. A plant based diet will reduce your total cholesterol.
  • High levels of LDL and vLDL cholesterol. Your levels of LDL, vLDL and Lpa will decrease.
  • High levels of triglycerides will also diminish.
  • High blood pressure will normalize or at least become less of a threat.
  • Obesity or being overweight will no longer be a problem. A plant based diet will help you lose weight.
  • Diabetes – You will see your type 2 diabetes either resolve or drastically improve.

All of these benefits will help you remove any arterial plaque and resolve any symptoms you may be experiencing. This should be great news. The only problem for meat eaters is adopting a plant based diet and giving up meat, dairy, oil, sugary drinks (sodas) and junk type foods. How much fortitude and desire to be healthy do you possess? If you want to live and beat heart disease you need to make the choice. Learn more
