In a previous post Lower Blood Pressure Naturally Using These Tips I mentioned 9 ways to naturally lower blood pressure without drugs. Since high blood pressure puts you at risk for clogged arteries (atherosclerosis) that cause heart attack, stroke, heart failure, kidney disease and of course death I thought I’d add a few more ways you can use to lower blood pressure.
Clean Your Arteries
Clogged arteries cause high blood pressure. It is only common sense that dictates clean out your arteries can lower blood pressure. In the following video chemist and Nobel Prize recipient Linus Pauling suggests that taking vitamin C and Lysine in combination can prevent heart disease caused by atherosclerosis. He also alludes to the possibility that larger doses may eliminate the disease if you already have it. For the price of vitamin C and lysine it is certainly worth your time and a good try. Your doctor will never tell you because it’s CHEAP and may rob him/her of a lot of money if it works. Who should you believe: A doctor who makes his/her living from your pain and suffering or a Nobel Prize recipient (work in chemical bonds) who has no financial reward interest?

Nix the Pork
Americans are avid pork eaters. Bacon, chops, roasts, sausage. Americans also have the largest per capita amounts of high blood pressure, atherosclerosis (artery plaque), stroke and cancer.
Those cultures who do not eat pork, Jews and Muslims, suffer far less high blood pressure, artery disease, heart attacks and strokes. The Old Testament of the Bible declares pigs unclean and off the food list. There may have been a reason. That reason may have been to avoid cardiovascular disease. You may have to judge for yourself whether this is simply coincidence or possibly a command to protect. I don’t believe in coincidence.
Drink Green Tea
Over the last few years it has come to the attention of some very astute researchers that one of the most insidious causes of heart disease is inflammation, especially long-term or chronic inflammation. Many antioxidants called polyphenol flavonoids lower inflammation. Green tea is full of polyphenols. Adding real, whole brewed green tea (not green tea supplements) to your diet may be quite beneficial.
Buy a Juicer and Start Juicing
The most compelling reason to become a juicing fanatic like me is the abundance of nutrients swallowed and absorbed per glass of fresh, organic vegetable juice.
Potassium, magnesium and calcium are all important to heart health, especially heart rhythm and blood pressure. many people with high blood pressure simply do NOT get enough potassium. We are suppose to consume over 4,000 mg per day but that isn’t real easy eating the average American diet. Juicing makes it easy to get more potassium and other essential nutrients in a form the body can easily absorb.
I drink fresh organic vegetable juice every day. This may be one of the major reasons I do NOT have high blood pressure or high LDL cholesterol. What nutrients I don’t get from the juice itself (fiber) I get from the soups and stews I make with the leftover pulp.
Buy a juicer and show your body some love.
Limit the Alcohol
A shot of good bourbon after work and a glass of red wine with dinner may be one of the ways to naturally lower blood pressure but more than two drinks per day becomes a risk factor, not only for high blood pressure but for coronary heart disease as well. This is a good example of a little being great and to much not so good. So drink wisely. No more than two drinks per day.
Check Your Blood Pressure
If you currently are hypertensive one of the things you must do throughout the day is check your blood pressure. It’s only common sense to keep track for a number of reasons. This means you need to invest in a good, accurate blood pressure monitor.

Get Support
Most humans need companionship, love and support. This especially holds true for those who are ill or at least not in the best health. So you may benefit from asking for support from family and friends.
You might also want to check out the web for support groups where you can post your thoughts, questions, etc at, even at 2 AM. Don’t be shy about the 2 AM time. The Internet is like Las Vegas, it never sleeps.
